Standing Up a Transformation Team in Six Weeks

Healthcare

A newly hired executive at a national health insurer needed to stand up five transformation workstreams fast, without a leadership bench in place. Partnering with Intuitive, she was able to identify, hire, and onboard five second‑tier leaders in just six weeks—compressing a months‑long process while still securing the right people to drive high‑stakes change.

A national health insurance organization had recently hired a senior executive to lead a high stakes transformation effort across multiple strategic workstreams. The new leader arrived with a bold vision and clear enterprise goals, but inherited a lean structure with no second tier leaders in place to drive day to day execution. With a very short runway to show tangible progress, she needed a trusted partner who could help her quickly stand up a leadership bench capable of owning and accelerating change across the business.

Challenge
A new executive stepped into a high stakes transformation role with very limited time to show impact and no second tier leaders in place to drive change. She quickly identified five critical workstreams that needed dedicated leaders with deep, industry specific expertise and a proven track record in transformation. At the same time, there was no existing services agreement between Intuitive and the organization she had just joined, and internal expectations were that standing up a new partnership would take three to six months. She needed all five leaders in place as soon as possible, despite notice periods, internal procurement and legal processes, and the complexity of coordinating multiple, tightly linked initiatives.

Solution
Intuitive moved immediately to open two parallel tracks: establishing a master services agreement with procurement and legal, and running a focused search for five second tier leaders. We met with procurement to clearly explain our niche focus, our track record placing leaders in highly specialized transformation roles, and why speed and fit were both essential in this scenario. Procurement and legal leaned in as true partners, accelerating internal approvals while we simultaneously sourced and engaged candidates for each role, keeping everyone fully informed about the administrative steps underway. On the talent side, we quickly surfaced finalists for all five roles, guiding them through interviews and managing around notice periods while maintaining transparency about timing and dependencies. Throughout, our executive sponsor actively worked across the leadership team to knock down barriers and keep decisions moving.

Outcome
Despite initial guidance that the approval and onboarding process could take up to six months, the organization had all five leaders signed, onboarded, and on the ground in six weeks. All five started on the same day, with clear mandates, aligned expectations, and the context they needed to immediately lead critical strategic workstreams. The organization gained the leadership bench it was missing, enabling faster execution on transformation goals and visible, incremental impact each quarter. The experience reinforced that, with the right partnership between business, procurement, legal, and Intuitive, it is possible to compress timelines dramatically and still get the right people in the right seats for high stakes change.
